Career Launch Initiative Session 1
The CLI Session 1 was held at SU Room 3, from 10:30 am – 11:45 am. I was part of the course as a requirement for my marketing class. In session 1, there were 10 industry professionals from different fields. From engineering to VP of Finance at Netflix – all industries were covered. We were divided in groups and each professional was assigned to one. In my group, the industry professional was in marketing industry but also had background in tech. During the group session our conversation revolved around expectations from new grads and how to stand out. At the end of the event, there was a small networking session where I connected with her on LinkedIn to chat more about if I could contribute in any capacity to her team. There is a second session a month from now focusing more on selling our resume and standing out in interviews.
