Joeceline Garcia, the first in her immigrant family to attend college, has always recognized her parents’ sacrifices, and while the lack of resources made her journey challenging, it also drove her to exceed her goals. She currently works as an administrative student intern at the City of Richmond Community Development Department. Her higher education started at Contra Costa Community College, graduating as a Presidential Scholar, and has since transferred to San Jose State University, where she is a Business Administration major with a concentration in Management Information Systems. She aims to work in the tech field, particularly data analytics, and eventually advance to project management. Later in her career, her goal is to give back to her community by mentoring other first-generation students wanting to break into tech.
