Getting Things Done
1. What you learned and how it relates to your major (e.g., describe what you learned from this learning module).
I learned the following things in this learning module
ts not about Time Management, its about the focus and our attention.
Five Steps:
- Capture, collect that your attention, check your surroundings that can be distracting, Then get the mind empty through mind sweep. Best practice is write it down
- Clarify: Process what it is captured. Some decision making is needed. What do these tasks really mean.. Is it something actionable. Three non actionable categories are trash, incubate or reference. Two Key questions, what is the next action? , Whats the project.
- Organize: put it where it belongs. Put it on calendar, organize it by context. Focus on agendas. Have the project list.
- Reflect: what all this means
- Engage: Simply do the task
Two Minute Rule: any action that can be done in two min.
If the action is longer than two minutes, can it be delegated to another person, If can not be delegated so we can defer it.
Start to pay attention to what has your attention. And engage with it appropriately
