Clean Room Development Intern and Assistant

In June and July of 2022, I interned at Little Brother’s Construction as a Data Analyst, and Clean Room Office Assistant.

The organization took place in an office located around the Beryessa area. This construction company was introduced to me through my mom, so she was able to teach me how to navigate through the workload because I took on the role as her assistant. Their company consisted of various vendors who would ask for assistance for various building projects, whether it was purchasing new infrastructure, developing new workrooms, or managing their current space. Little Brothers would then take on the project and collaborate with the vendor to make sure that the task can be successfully fulfilled. I was assigned a multitude of tasks ranging from organizing workers’ receipts, managing Excel Sheets, constructing work blueprints, developing files, and monitoring/recording air particles in cleaning rooms. Within this externship, I utilized and learned many skills to maintain efficiency in my work.

To go more into depth:

▪  Assisted in designing and developing successful clean rooms for various companies

▪  Conducted particle count tests to identify potential issues and make recommendations for improvements

▪  Created detailed map visuals using various tools and software

▪  Developed strong analytical and problem-solving skills

▪  Maintained open communication and collaborated with clients to provide updates and expectations

Besides the office tasks I performed, I remember the projects where I would have to take a day or sometimes overnight shift to Bentec Medical in Woodland to help my mom with a project. This project consisted of setting up an air particle counter in various clean rooms at a plastic surgery factory, and I remember having to scale the whole building. I remember the clean rooms resembling such a white hue, and I would have to constantly move the particle counter around multiple times to make sure I covered the whole room. In addition to this, I had to set up petri dishes on the floor to monitor the amount of germs on the floor. I would have to organize and record the data and then store the petri dishes back into the cooler and make sure it’s sealed. After completing the trials, I would have to record the information found on an official document where I stated the Clean Room # I tested in, the air particle count, and the amount of germs observed on the floor.  It was a long process, but I’m glad I got to experience that new line of work because it offered me a glimpse into a new field I previously wasn’t knowledgeable in. I learned that management can be observed in all fields of work. In the office, I was managing payroll and finances through Excel and countless piles of papers. Furthermore, with the Woodland projects, I had to constantly monitor and record the data found throughout my trials at Bentec Medical. These management systems helped to interpret the info, so I could record it onto the official documents that would then get sent back to the vendors.  This internship taught me how to manage workload, efficiently record data, and develop solutions when problems would arise. I’ve learned from the content in 110A that there are steps to success, and during my time at Little Brothers, I had to follow a set of processes that enabled me to reach the desired outcome.

I discussed it with you after class. that since I worked under my mom, I didn’t receive an official office letter or anything, and you stated it was fine, so instead, I attached a photo of the cleaning room trials I had to do for the Woodland projects.
