Team Manager – SJSU Sahaara
My job function is Team Manager of SJSU Sahaara, my school’s competitive Bollywood-Fusion dance team that competes at a national level in the Desi Dance Network. I organize the executive board and timeline for the whole team of 22 members as well as check-in consistently with the Production, Outreach, Logistics, Finance, and Choreography Captains to ensure timely manner in completion of our set and competition applications/registration/travel accommodations/coordination with external vendors (DJs, photographers, videographers, costumes, production). I play a big role in the team’s motivation and setting goals and focuses for the team as well as executive board. I supplement the rest of the executive board’s tasks when needed and provide advice and feedback from my past two years of experience and captaincy. This role has really helped me fine-tune my communication and management skills as well as how to balance such a big project with so many different moving parts.
