Biography

Background:

I was born and raised in Stockton, California and lived there for 18 years until I moved to San Jose to attend San Jose State University. While in school, I enjoyed participating in extracurricular activities such as sports, clubs, and non-profit work. Now, as a college student, I carry the same interests and continue to involve myself with activities outside of school.

Hobbies:

The hobby that has been a constant for the last 7 years of my life is dance. I would consider dance as one of my passions, knowing that it is something I would like to do for the rest of my life. I am currently on a competitive dance team, along with being the Vice President for SJSU Hip Hop Club, which hosts free dance workshops for all levels. I put much time and dedication into this hobby because it is my escape from reality.

Another hobby of mine would be skating or building skateboards. This is a hobby I recently picked up over the last 3 years. Additionally, I began skating around school and eventually learned how to build skateboards from scratch out of curiosity of how it is made.

Interests:

Generally speaking, my interests could be categorized as taking things apart and understanding how everything operates together. As said previously, I enjoy building skateboards because I get to see how each part plays a role in the functionality of the skateboard itself. This correlates to my interest in personal computers (PC). Though, I do not have one myself, I tend to watch videos and read articles about the various parts needed to make a PC.

As an MIS major, I am learning to understand how programming allows us to perform certain tasks on our devices, but I think it is equally important to know how the physical components grant us the ability to even perform those tasks in the first place.
