Effective Listening
In all careers related to MIS and business at large, you will have to listen to people talk whether it is in a meeting or small talk. From this module, I learned more about how to listen than before. One example being the lesson that when taking notes while listening, you should only jot down the main points rather than everything said to not fall behind. Another important point is to always ask for clarification if unsure which will help both you and the speaker in the long run. Some other good advice is to clarify your role as a listener and having a 10 – 20% smile while listening along with eye contact to make the speaker feel more at ease. This learning module will definitely help me advance my career in MIS.
