Careers in Tech
This event was a panel by 3 speakers from Netflix, Apple, and Nvidia. Attending this event gave insight into how the 3 speakers viewed their careers, their skills, and their respective challenges. One of them mentioned learning cryptology in advance to get ahead of the rest in computer science. Another mentioned majoring in chemistry, eventually becoming a data analyst who specialized in chemistry. Some of the skills they valued were soft skills, knowing how to respond on the spot, and being upfront when you don\’t know something. Another thing worth mentioning was that they shared that their first few years working were hard but it paid off in the end. We even got to have a rotation with the officers and speakers. They also talked about interviews, being authentic and open to communicate. It was great getting to connect with these professionals afterward.
