Heritage Rose Garden Restoration

As Community Relations Director for SJSU Marketing Association, I led our volunteer team at the San Jose Heritage Rose Garden with the goal of supporting garden maintenance and beautification for the benefit of local visitors and the broader San Jose community. While we initially arrived to prune rose beds, we adapted on-site and shifted to planting trees, helping expand the garden’s long-term greenery and sustainability. By the end of the morning, our group successfully planted multiple trees and supported the garden’s stewardship efforts through hands-on labor and coordinated teamwork. This experience reinforced that meaningful impact comes from showing up with a service mindset, communicating clearly, staying flexible when plans change, and working together toward a shared purpose.
