Break-Even Point of Kirkland Signature Walkers Shortbread at Costco in San Jose: Managing Loss and Profit During Holiday

Goal: Analyze Costco’s strategy to manage profits and losses with a breakeven analysis of a Costco seasonal product.

I’ve learned to identify the fixed costs, variable costs, and selling price, then calculate the break-even point to find how many unit Costco have to sell to cover all the costs and start making a profit. This project also increases my research skills, as there is not much public information on the costs of a Costco Kirkland Signature Walkers Shortbread.

As a result, my group has been able to find that Costco needs to sell at least 104 units of Kirkland Signature Walkers Shortbread to start making a profit.
