Biography
Rio Red Diokno(called Red by most) is currency a police cadet with the Morgan Hill Police Department. Whilst working with Morgan Hill, Red is also attending school at San Jose State University as a third-year transfer from Gavilan College. His ultimate goal is to obtain his Bachelor’s degree in Business MIS to help further his career in law enforcement.
Red was born in the Philippines and moved to the U.S. with his family at around four years old. He was raised in Gilroy, California where he attended Christopher High School and Gavilan College. At Christopher High, Red learned valuable leadership skills by being team captain the varsity lacrosse teams. Red was also able to maintain a high GPA of 3.6 while attending Gavilan college. Red started off as a graffiti abatement officer at MHPD while he was still a senior in high school. After a year of removing and covering up graffiti, he was promoted to a police cadet. As a police cadet, Red was able to understand the paperwork side of policing. Red was able to learn how to perform background checks, book suspects, fingerprint applicants, enter warrants and other tasks that involve assisting community members. Red hopes that his experiences at the police station will help him become a better police officer in the future.
Some of Red’s hobbies include playing golf, working out, and activities that include anything outdoors. Red has always tried to maintain an active lifestyle, whether that’s hitting an intense workout at the gym or simply fishing on a lake. Red also enjoys reading in his freetime. He is always trying to gain as much knowledge as he can, even outside of school or work.
