Creating a Check-In/Out System for San Jose’s EOC
Our project focuses on developing a digital check-in/check-out system for San Jose’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) to streamline personnel tracking during emergencies. Currently, the EOC relies on a paper-based system, which causes bottlenecks and delays in checking in staff and faculty. To address this, we are digitizing the process by creating a simple interface that will timestamp all personnel which would be recorded into an Excel. This allows personnel to check in and out efficiently through QR code scanning. The system will automatically log entry and exit timestamps, maintain real-time personnel records, and improve overall response efficiency. By reducing manual paperwork and administrative delays, this solution enhances the EOC’s operational readiness and ensures accurate personnel tracking during critical situations.
