MISA LinkedIn Workshop
I attended a LinkedIn workshop hosted by MISA on Thursday, September 18th. They had a guest speaker who worked at Walmart and I learned a lot from his experience. The main thing that stuck out to me was when he mentioned how he was a firm believer in using LinkedIn as a platform to plant seeds and increase your chances of gaining new opportunities. I learned that I should always strive to make new connections because I never know what opportunities can blossom from these connections. During this meeting, he emphasized how we should always update our resumes and LinkedIn profiles as we progress in our careers. In this meeting, the club officers also walked us through how we should update our LinkedIn biographies by adding an About Me section and including our major and aspiring roles in our description. I also learned that LinkedIn can be used as a tool to connect with recruiters and individuals with our dream jobs. This meeting relates to my career goals because maintaining a polished LinkedIn helps me stand out as a strong candidate for internships and future job opportunities.
