Effective Listening

In this course I learned how to assess my current listening skills, understand the challenges to effective listening, and develop behaviors that will allow you to become a better listener. Effective listening is crucial in MIS because it ensures accurate communication between stakeholders, such as users, IT professionals, and management. In MIS, systems are designed to meet specific business needs, and these needs are often gathered through discussions, interviews, and feedback sessions. Active listening helps MIS professionals understand user requirements, identify problems, and translate business objectives into technical solutions. It also fosters better collaboration among team members, reduces miscommunication, and ensures that the system developed or maintained aligns with the organization\’s goals.
