EthicLens – AI Ethical Shopping Assistant
Developed for my BUS4 110A – Management Information Systems course, EthicLens was created to address growing challenges around greenwashing, ingredient transparency, and ethical consumer behavior. Our goal was to design an AI-powered shopping assistant aligned with UN SDG 12 that helps users evaluate product sustainability, avoid allergens, and discover ethical alternatives in fashion, skincare, and beauty. Using IBM Watson NLU, Azure Machine Learning, and Azure Computer Vision, my team built a browser-extension concept, a personalized chatbot, and a mobile scanner that returns an ethical “Ethi-Score” with clear transparency metrics. Through this project, I strengthened my skills in AI integration, UX/UI design, responsible tech, and data interpretation, and learned how to translate complex sustainability data into simple, trustworthy user experiences.
