Conflict of Interests
The goal of the “Conflict of Interests Podcast” was to examine the ethical issue of conflicts of interest through the case study of Elizabeth Holmes and Theranos. Our group’s podcast explored how Holmes’s personal and financial interests led to unethical decisions that caused harm to stakeholders, particularly patients and investors. The results highlight the importance of ethical leadership and transparency, especially in industries like healthcare where trust is paramount. The podcast is not published online but serves as an educational tool to discuss business ethics. From this project, I learned the significance of maintaining ethical integrity in business practices and the far-reaching consequences when personal gain is prioritized over honesty and transparency.
