NVIDIA GTC Student Experience

On March 18th, I attended NVIDIA’s March Keynote Watch Party Event on campus at the Provident Credit Union Center where the event was comprised of 4 different parts: networking opportunities with employees regarding internships/opportunities, careers in AI panel with NVIDIA Head of Strategic Intiatives, Keynote livestream of CEO Jensen Huang talking about their new AI technology, and a raffle drawing for a prize of RTX 5090 Graphics Card. In the livestream, Huang discussed about Blackwell Ultra which is their new AI chip which will launch in the second half of 2025 boasting of 1.5x boost of performance over the previous versions. He also brought up the Vera Rubin Superchip which is their new CPU set to launch in the second half of 2026 offering double the performance of their current Hopper architecture. The surprising part of the livestream was their partnership with General Motors where they are collaborating to integrate their technology with GM’s new product line of self driving cars. This will be a huge competition for Tesla who is already creating wonders in their sector with their new Model Y. I am looking forward to seeing how this will go forward since GM’s stock has been downtrail since the past few days. Overall, this event offered me an opportunity to learn about the vast implementation of AI which is evolving every year and is mindlowing in each leg of the journey.
