Building Trust

The biggest takeaway from this module was how trust can be destroyed in the workplace. In particular, speaking in a tone that suggests you’re unconfident in yourself loses your coworkers’ trust in your competency.

Since I aspire to work in a management position in business, this module is extremely relevant to me. In order for me to direct my team and coordinate tasks, I have to prove to my team members that I am a reliable leader that they can follow. As the module suggests, this can be done by having confidence in what I know. If I’m unsure of something, I must clearly communicate that and demonstrate that I’m taking action to do something about it, rather than pretending that I know something I don’t.
