Real Quantum Computing
Quantum computing has the potential to elevate research to entirely new potentials, and IBM is the perfect partner. Earlier this year, IBM unveiled the first quantum computer to operate outside the laboratory. The workshop planned for October 18 aims to be understandable to an audience of varied technical backgrounds. This workshop will:
- Introduce the fundamental concepts behind quantum computing;
- Show some examples of work being done with IBM Q’s current NISQ (Noisy Intermediate Scale Quantum) processors;
- Look towards development of future fault-tolerant universal quantum computers.
IBM’s workshops will be hosted on Friday, October 18 from 10am to 2pm. Both workshops are free to attend, but seating is limited and a reservation is required. If you have any questions about the event, please reach out to Bob Lim, VP of Information Technology & CIO at vp-it@sjsu.edu.
