Effective Listening
Effective listening is an essential skill in both the personal and professional aspect. Throughout the module, both Kolovou and Bailey-Hughes emphasize the importance of attentive listening and how listening effectively improves communication. They also provide various ways to improve our listening skills by going over the basics for improved listening. For instance, some listening intentions may include recalling details, understanding the big picture, evaluate content, attune to subtle cues, listen with empathy, and take notice when/how to listen. This relates to our major because effective listening is a skill that will help us understand business needs and find solutions to improve business strategies.
