Getting Things Done
1. What you learned and how it relates to your major (e.g., describe what you learned from this learning module).
The module covers a detailed 5 step process to help people tackle tasks. The five steps that I learned were capturing things, clarifying meaning, organizing where things belong, reflecting on and reviewing tasks, and lastly engaging the tasks. This strongly relates to me as a MIS major because as an MIS major we are given a large list of tasks to complete in order to develop a system. It can be overwhelming to receive all of the tasks at once. The 5 step process of getting things done can help give a structured approach to the vast list of tasks. For example, the module suggests to clear your workspace and only have things that are critical to your work. To elaborate further, if there is an empty wrapper that you haven’t thrown away at your desk, that takes less than a minute to do, therefore, you should handle that task right away.
